First United Methodist Church of Dallas Addition and Renovations

Project Brief

Featuring decorative cornices and an iconic bell tower, this 1924 church is a Dallas landmark. A 1950s addition had obscured its courtyard and stained glass windows, so Echelon led plans to replace it with a new, three-story addition built in place of the previous one. By adding skylights and stone pavers, and repairing damaged brickwork, the team created an enclosed indoor space with an outdoor feeling. As a result, the church preserved its historic integrity, while meeting the needs of its modern congregation.
